Check-in deadline

You must check-in by 11.00 am on July 6th to be paired for the first round

Registration deadlines

The entry fee is $200, with a $25 early bird discount before June 15th, and a $25 late fee after July 1st.

So...

  • $175 before June 15th Too late!
  • $200 if you register and pay by July 1st Too late!
  • $225 if you register and pay after July 1st

On site entries??
You can't be serious, you want to play in a national championship, and can't be bothered to register ahead of time??

Well, life happens, but players registering onsite must take a zero-point bye in round one.

Update July 2nd: Unfortunately, the T-shirt supplier has got a huge order, and we have been squeezed out. T-shirts will be available on-site only for those people who registered by the early bird deadline (June 15th). Later entries will have to have their shirt mailed. The good thing is, T-shirts will now be available for on-site entries. The bad thing is, some poor sucker is going to have to do the shipping, and pay the postage. Sigh.

(Big family?
The first two siblings (brothers or sisters) pay full price,
the third sibling enters for half price, additional siblings are free.)

Two ways to register:

1. By email: send name, section, birthdate, CFC #, province, and t-shirt info (colour and size) to info@cycc.ca

2. On-line: www.chessreg.ca

Three ways to pay:

1. PayPal, pay the full entry fee

2. by cheque, (address below) you can take a $2 discount

3. by email, if you bank online; email payment (less a $2 discount) to info@cycc.ca

Explanation:

PayPal charges a service charge, so you pay $200, we receive about $195.

If you pay by mail or email, send only $198... cheaper for you, and we get more money than if you use PayPal.

Make the cheque payable to CYCC Windsor 2010 and mail it to 7534 St. Rose Avenue, Windsor, Ontario N8S 1Y7

I like trophies... BIG trophies. Probably something to do with my deprived childhood.

Player awards and perks include

  • gi-normous trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

  • New! Trophies for "under-odds," that is, under 17s, under 16's, etc.

    • Sorry, only one trophy per player
    • These new trophies are funded by a grant from Windsor Optimist clubs

  • T-shirt for each player in a choice of colours (sorry, no T-shirt for on-site entries)

  • fancy embossed certificate for each player

  • "neck wallet" style id for each player

  • chess bag, set and board for visitors staying at the Hilton
